Lions Club of Cockermouth Charter Anniversary Luncheon 29th November 2009 has been Cancelled.
Following a meeting of Club members recently, the decision was made to cancel the forthcoming Charter Luncheon. It was felt, with the current devastation in Cockermouth it would not be appropriate to go ahead with the usual celebration.
I hope you will all understand our feelings on the matter and we thank you all for your generous messages of support and offers of assistance.
Anyone who has sent cheques in advance, I will return them by letter.

The devastating flood that has hit our region is an unprecedented disaster. Our thoughts are with those suffering at this time.
One of the Lions International primary purposes is to provide help in time of disaster and you can be sure we will be doing our small part in the major effort to bring our town back from this tragedy.
